Meyer Harris (1881-1949) was married to Rebecca Surasky, the daughter of BM Surasky and was a charter member of Adath Yeshurun Synagogue. Meyer opened this women's clothing store in 1918 after he & Rebecca moved to Aiken from St Louis (where Meyer's family lived). The store was initially called The Model Style Shop but the name was changed to Harris Style Shop in 1923. The store was in the Weeks Building near the Jacob Wolf Men’s Shop. The operated until 1933 and eventually became part of the expansion of Julia’s Dress Shop.
