Max Bozick (1885-1955) opened a tack store with his wife Ann on Long Island in 1908 and was encouraged to move his store to Aiken in the 1930s by the von Stade family. Max & Ann were subsequently joined by their son Frank Bozick (1912-1986) & his wife Rosie — who worked in the shop and took over from Max after he passed away on 1955. The store quickly became one of the largest in SC and served customers from New England to Florida. Frank passed away in 1987 and Rosie continued to run the store until it closed in 1991.
